“Most shifts start with nurses crying. Most shifts end that way too…. I wonder if the patients know their nurses are overwhelmed…. (O’Halloran, Jaclyn. StatNews)
By now, you’ve probably read something to that effect. Nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals are working harder than ever. Many do not go home. They live and breathe their work.
And though we recognize that the biggest way we can do our part is to stay home. In honor of National Nurses Week and the 200th birthday of Florence Nightingale (the founder of modern nursing) Novi Wealth Partners wanted to do a little more to properly thank these amazing people. This year, we have made donations to:
We chose these charities because each focused on giving back to the healthcare professionals working the front lines.
The Princeton Healthcare System Foundation Healthcare Heroes donation will allow us to provide 20 meals.
The American Nurse Foundation: Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses focuses on the emerging needs of nurses including providing direct financial assistance to nurses and supporting the mental health of nurses.
The Nurses House, Inc. a campaign run by and for nurse. The foundation helps nurses nationwide affected by COVID-19 who re unable to work due to a COVID-19 infection, caring for a loved one with COVID-19, or are under mandatory quarantine by helping with basic necessary expenses like rent or medical payments.
These foundations are just a few examples of the organizations supporting nurses. We previously wrote a blog about the importance of charitable giving (click here to read about charitable giving), but if you would like to talk to us about what strategies you could employ we encourage you to give our office a call.
